How many people do you know (maybe even yourself included) who have a dietary restriction? Social media is flooded with dietary suggestions that help to optimize gut health and sustainability.
Think of how often you hear of your friendly neighbourhood millennial ordering a seed-oil-free plant milk frothed in their cinnamon dolce latte, doing their part to save our planet—and their guts.
Like an epic hero, Fltr's origin story is one beckoning for greatness. As your resident hot-girl-with-stomach-problems, I too harness many food sensitivities—that counts as a super power, right?
All that aside, and yet all of that included, I thoroughly understand the struggle that comes with trying to enjoy a nice night out at a restaurant while the stress of food restrictions is mulling in your head. IMHO, the only thing that should be mulling is wine, but that's another discussion.
At one point, my diet was grain, dairy, sugar, meat, caffeine, nut, and joy-free. I thought to myself, is this it? How can I make it easier for others like me to find something to eat, regardless of how specific their dietary restrictions were?
So I got sleuthing, and I got crunching.
I created Fltr, a concept app that focusses on food opportunities, not food restrictions.
Fltr helps users to 'filter' out all their highly-specific allergies, dietary restrictions, or foods that they just don't like, to connect them with restaurants that can accommodate them.
Fltr allows users to discover and book restaurants that offer the right meal for them, according to their specific dietary profile.
